Stringy

I got new strings today for my guitar. I got a nice set of Dean Markley .12-.54 VintageBronze. They’ve got quite a nice rounded sound to them. Not too sharp, and not too bassy. They’re a little lighter than what I’ve used in the past, as I think I was finding it a little hard to play some barres and I was muting strings now and then when I shouldn’t have been; these lighter strings will help that. Plus the setup is now a little better – I think the intonation is back where it should be.

I put them on earlier, and in the process of cutting the spare off the end, managed to poke the .12 E-string right into the end of my left index finger. It hurt like a sod for a little bit, and bled a bit, but it healed just as quickly. I was actually strumming away all of 5 minutes later and it just felt a little sore. That’s the nice thing about guitar strings – even if you do skewer yourself with one, the wounds heal pretty quickly. I’ve done it so many times its not even funny though.
