Why, oh why oh why, do we have separate hot and cold taps? It’s very rare I’m able to wash my hands, and not end up either scalding myself on water hot enough to melt the pipes, or freezing my hands on water so cold, an Eskimo would shiver.
It’s only in the last few years and in places where toilets and bathrooms are being refitted they are having mixer taps fitted, which allow you to regulate the temperature. This is a wonderful innovation. But why did it take until now to do it?!
Until more places are refitted, I suppose I’ll just have to put up with super-heated water, all in the name of good hygiene.
