NAKED TRUTH What do ment think about their bodies? marie claire June 1997 by Maria Ricapito and Dona Brown
My arms are the perfect length for playing the bass. My arm span is about six feet, and I have pointy elbows and shoulders that stick out. It's a drag when a girl wants to put her head on my shoulder. I have to position her so the point goes into her ear. My hands are meticulous, but they shake. That's a skinny guy thing, I think. In school, I was always called "chicken" or "frog legs." But I'm a fast runner, and my legs are a really important part of my body. In third grade, I wrote a poem called "why I Like My Legs." Women are excited when I acknowledge my skinniness. They say, "you don't know how many women would die to have a body like yours!" It's a social thing. They identify with me. When I was twenty-one, I became a rock star very quickly in Canada, and I realized how people responded to my gangliness. At the end of the show I do a little sexy dance and hear tons of screaming girls. |
